HRF PARTNERSHIP MODEL

From the early days, HRF’s strategy to reach children has been to partner with community based organizations (CBOs) that are already doing tremendous work in education or livelihoods within the community. This ensures that HRF’s intervention remains focused on inspiring children to read, while the CBO ensures sustainability of the project. The CBO also mobilizes the community including parents, teachers, SDMCs and children. The existing infrastructure of people and space is leveraged to reduce project costs significantly. This strategy has helped HRF to deliver maximum impact for the least monetary investment and ensured that the libraries continue to be active even after HRF’s intervention is complete. In short, while the partners are required to provide infrastructural support, HRF takes care of giving the programme, the librarian training and review for a period of 3 years.
